[ARCHIVED] 2026 Proposed Village Budget and 2025 Tax Levy

November 7, 2025 Update: 

The Public Hearing for the Proposed 2026 Annual Operating Budget was held during the Village Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6 p.m. The meeting also included the first reading of the 2026 Budget Ordinance, 2026 Salary Ordinance, and 2025 Tax Levy Ordinance.

The second reading of these ordinances is scheduled for the Village Board meeting on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 6 p.m.

Revised Ordinances for Second Reading: At the November 6 meeting, the Village Board voted to amend the Tax Levy Ordinance to include only new growth in the levy amount. If approved on second reading, there will be no increase to the Village of Lombard’s portion of the property tax bill for existing homeowners. The adjustment would apply only to new growth and construction.

October 28, 2025: 

The Village of Lombard will hold a Public Hearing on the Proposed 2026 Annual Operating Budget during the Village Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at 6 p.m. The meeting will include the first reading of the 2026 Annual Operating Budget Ordinance, 2026 Salary Ordinance, and 2025 Tax Levy Ordinance.

The second reading and anticipated approval of the Annual Operating Budget Ordinance, Tax Levy Ordinance, and Salary Ordinance are scheduled for the Village Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at 6 p.m.

Planning for the proposed 2026 Budget and 2025 Tax Levy began in early 2025 and included several meetings of Village committees composed of resident volunteers.

On Sept. 22, 2025, the Finance and Administration Committee voted to recommend the 2026 Proposed Budget for approval by the Village Board of Trustees.

The Proposed 2026–2035 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) was recommended for approval by the Public Works and Environmental Concerns Committee on June 10, 2025. The Village Board of Trustees will consider the 2026-2035 CIP as part of the 2026 Proposed Budget.
