The St. Charles Road Resurfacing Project is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 23, weather permitting. This infrastructure project will cover IL Route 53 to Grace Street, with key improvements including:
- Resurfacing the roadway
- Adjustments to sewer structures
- Pedestrian walkway improvements
The project has received federal funding, which will cover 60% of the total construction costs, helping the Village make significant improvements while being fiscally responsible.
In addition, the Village will be extending the Downtown Sidewalk Improvements from Craig Street to Grace Street. This work is funded through the Village’s TIF district and is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the downtown area and improve walkability.
As with any road construction, we encourage you to plan ahead for possible delays when traveling through the area. Please use extra caution while driving near construction zones. Follow posted signage, reduce speed and be mindful of workers and pedestrians.
