As part of the Village’s roadway maintenance program, Village crews will be performing improvements along North Grace Street between Sunset Avenue and Marcus Drive starting on Monday, June 10, 2024, weather permitting.
The improvements will focus on resurfacing the joints in the pavement that have opened up between the asphalt passes, as well as restriping the parking lane on the east side of Grace Street. The work will be an interim improvement until the roadway can be resurfaced. The Village of Lombard received Federal Surface Transportation Funds (STP) that will cover 60% of the project costs. The total cost estimate for the project is $2,620,173.60, with the Village receiving Federal funding for the project in the amount of $1,572,000. Unfortunately, based on available funding, the Federal funds are not available until the Federal Fiscal Year 2026.
The construction will involve a moving work zone, and drivers are advised to plan ahead and seek alternative routes.
