The Lombard Police Department today announced the results of their recent Super Bowl enforcement campaign aimed at keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring more people buckle up and follow all traffic safety laws.
During the enforcement period, between Friday, February 9, through the early morning hours of Monday, February 12, the Lombard Police Department made one (1) DUI arrest and issued the following citations:
- 33 seat belt citations
- 26 child safety seat citations
- 10 speeding citations
- 17 distracted driving citations (cell phone)
- 22 other citations (moving/non-moving)
- 4 traffic arrests (suspended/revoked/no DL)
- 1 vehicle forfeiture
“Motorists should understand that we are serious about cracking down on impaired drivers and seat belt and other traffic safety law violators. We do it to save lives,” said Lombard Police Sergeant Tom Balsitis.
The recent Super Bowl enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
