[ARCHIVED] W. Wilson Ave Road Closure

purple background with white text about road closure

Outside of Village limits, a common traffic cut-through on W. Wilson Ave just east of Rt. 53 is legally being closed by the unincorporated homeowner installing a fence around their property across the roadway. Wilson Ave had been vacated through the Flowerfield Subdivision in 1960, but this section has continued to be used as a roadway through the private properties. Drivers are encouraged to use Edgewood Rd and Whitmore Ln for local access to/from Rt. 53.

The Village has installed a Dead End sign on Lombard’s remaining portion of Wilson Ave (to the left of the area), and GPS apps, including Google and Apple maps, have been requested to route traffic to Edgewood Rd and Whitmore Ln for local access to/from Rt. 53.
