Toy Drive 2022 - website

The Lombard Fire Department’s 21st Annual Toy Drive kicks off Tuesday, Nov. 1, and will end with a Toy Parade on Main St., from St. Charles Rd. to Wilson Ave., Saturday, Dec. 10. Residents are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and baby supplies to Lombard Fire Stations, Village Hall, and participating community locations for donation. Firefighters will also collect toys from residents during the Toy Parade on Dec. 10 and will bring them to Yorktown Shopping Center for sorting.

Toy Drive: Nov. 1 – Dec. 9

Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 1, toy drive collection bins will be available in several locations, including Lombard Village Hall (255 E. Wilson Ave), Fire Station 45 (50 E. St. Charles Rd), Fire Station 44 (2020 S. Highland Ave.), Sunset Knolls Recreation Center (820 S. Finley Rd), Madison Meadows Athletic Center (500 E. Wilson Ave), Helen Plum Library (110 West Maple St) and Clark Orthodontics (23 N. Main St). Items requested include new toys (unwrapped), sports equipment, and baby supplies such as formula, wipes, and diapers. Items collected will benefit Toy Express and Teen Parent Connection. Schools in Districts 44 and 45 will also collect items. Cash donations are also being accepted and may be dropped off at either Lombard Fire Station.

“We’re happy to say that this is our 21st year of collecting toys and items in hopes of making the season a little brighter for our residents and neighbors,” said Lombard Firefighter and Paramedic Kevin Matthews. “We love this town. Time and time again the people that live here inspire us. Every year, people donate items and toys to help strangers or maybe even someone they know. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit and we hope that more people will donate or come to the toy parade than ever before.”

Toy Parade: Dec. 10, 10:30 a.m.

Residents are invited to attend the Toy Parade on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m. The Fire Department will depart Fire Station 45 at 50 E. St. Charles at 10:15 a.m., and will proceed south on Main Street to Glenbard East High School. Residents may line up along southbound Main Street to donate gifts up to Glenbard East High School. Donations will then be brought to Yorktown Shopping Center for sorting.
