Pill bottle with blue and red pills spilling out

The Lombard Police Department will be a collection site for the DEA's National DrugTake Back event on Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the event, both prescription and over-the-counter medications will be accepted. Note, sharps, needles and illicit drugs will not be accepted.

The DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is a biannual event hosted nationwide to provide the public with a free and convenient opportunity for the disposal of unwanted, unused, and expired medicines from households. The event is hosted by the DEA in partnership with local law enforcement agencies across the United States.

Medications may be disposed of in their original containers or by removing the medication from the container.  If the medications are left in the original container, it is suggested that identifying information be removed. Liquid products like cough syrup should remain sealed in their original container. Please ensure that the cap is tightly secured to prevent leakage.
