In honor of the 21st Anniversary of September 11th, the Village of Lombard invites residents to attend its 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Dedication. The ceremony will take place on September 11, 2022, 9:00 a.m., at the Public Safety Plaza at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Street.

On Sunday, Sept. 11th, 2022, the Village will remember and honor those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This day, known as Patriot Day or September 11th Day, is recognized by U.S. law as a National Day of Service and Remembrance and has been observed every year since that tragic day in 2001.

Following the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Dedication, the Village of Lombard is joining organizations across the country to encourage blood donations to honor those who lost their lives. The Village is co-hosting two blood drive events on Tuesday, September 13, 2022:

  • YORKTOWN CENTER - In the mobile coach parked on the lower level Mall Entrance outside VonMaur from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • COMMUNITY DRIVE - First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St., from 1:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

To schedule an appointment, visit www.versiti.org/lL or call/text (847) 305-9998.
