The Village of Lombard was recently recognized by the Illinois Section American Water Works Association (ISAWWA) with the Water Saver Award for its excellence as an ambassador for professional water works advocacy and for making significant contributions to water efficiency within the water industry.

This distinction was presented to Brian Jack, Lombard Public Works Utilities Superintendent, at the annual WaterCon event in Springfield. The ISAWWA will also present a certificate of this award at the May 5, 2022 Village Board Meeting.

Lombard Public Works also was recognized as an ISAWWA Water Ambassador Gold Community for elevating public perception, knowledge, and consumer education of the water industry. This program aims to accomplish these goals by presenting a new communication platform of educational and promotional content in a manner that is relevant, engaging, and consistent among participants.

The ISAWWA provides resources for the advocacy of safe and sustainable water through enriching membership, mentoring, and increasing public awareness.  For more information, visit www.isawwa.org.
