The Lombard Police Department announced it issued 104 seatbelt citations and 33 child safety seat citations during the recent Memorial Day ‘Click It or Ticket’ enforcement period.
During the campaign, from May 17 through May 28, 2024, Lombard Police took the following additional actions:
- 32 speeding citations
- 38 distracted driving (cell phone) citations
- 46 other citations (moving/non-moving)
- 11 traffic-related arrests (no valid/suspended/revoked licenses)
- 3 DUI (driving under the influence) arrests
- 1 warrant arrests
“Through the Memorial Day enforcement campaign, we helped make our roads safer and spread the word that seat belts and child safety restraints save lives,” said Police Sergeant Tom Balsitis.
The “Click It or Ticket” campaign is funded with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
