The Lombard Fire Department now provides free, 24/7 access to Naloxone (Narcan) through a dispenser located outside Fire Station 45 (50 E. St. Charles Road). This program, offered in partnership with the HOPE DuPage program, helps make life-saving overdose-reversal medication accessible to those who may need it.
Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan, is used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It is safe to administer and will not harm someone if opioids are not present.
Each kit includes instructions, and a quick-start guide handout is also available at the dispenser to help individuals understand how and when to use the medication. In any emergency, always call 911 immediately.
Narcan nasal spray kits are available at no cost and may be accessed by anyone. This resource is intended to support individuals who may face barriers to obtaining Narcan or prefer a more private option.
Naloxone is also available for purchase at many pharmacies. Additional information and resources, including other distribution locations and trainings, can be found on the HOPE DuPage website.
