Overnight Parking

Purple parking sign and car graphic Opens in new windowLombard Village Ordinance 10-13-9 prohibits parking on any village street between the hours of 2:00 am - 5:00 am. The Village recognizes the need for residents and visitors to park overnight on occasion. Residents and visitors are allowed to request four (4) nights per month. Please note on nights where snowfall exceeds 1 inch of snow, overnight parking requests will not be granted.

To request overnight parking, complete and submit the Overnight Parking Request form. When entering your license plate number, please remember to include the alpha characters on truck (B) and specialty plates ( EN- Environmental, LE- Police Memorial, etc.). If extended time is needed for long term guest or home construction project, residents may email Barbara Blankenship at blankenshipb@villageoflombard.org

Large Complex (Multiple Vehicles) Temporary On-Street Overnight Parking

If you are inquiring about overnight parking for multiple vehicles for a complex (condominium, townhouse, apartments) because of parking lot work, garage work or other activities of that nature, a Large Complex Temporary On-Street Parking application must be completed and submitted to the Public Works Department.  Once approved, the application will be returned to you via email and it will not be necessary for individual residents of the complex to call in their cars.  For questions regarding this process, please contact Public Works at (630) 620-5740 or via email.

Free Downtown Parking

Whether you are commuting for work or visiting one of your favorite spots in the downtown area, it is easy to find free parking near your destination. Free downtown public parking options in downtown Lombard are readily available: 

  • Weekdays (after 11 a.m.) all seven Metra commuter lots are free 
  • Weekends (all-day) all seven Metra station commuter lots are free
  • Holidays (all-day) all seven Metra station commuter lots are free. Holidays are January 1st, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
  • Hourly on-street parking options also available

Commuter Parking 

The Village of Lombard operates seven parking lots for commuter parking purposes. The lots are located near the Metra station in downtown Lombard. All numbered spaces require a daily payment of $1.50 before 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. The number of spaces is limited. View the map of parking lots to see where you can park. Parking in the commuter lots is free after 11 a.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Holidays are January 1st, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. No overnight parking is allowed in the commuter lots.

Daily Fee Parking

Daily fee spaces can be paid for at the pay box located in the parking lot or at the Metra station.  You can also pay for daily fees by registering for Passport Parking.  The Lombard zone for Passport Parking is 60148.  

Overnight Parking

St. Charles Commuter Lot | 62 E. St. Charles Road

Overnight parking is permitted in the St. Charles Commuter Lot (located west of the Fire Station) between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.: 

  • Monday through Friday, with payment of the required daily parking fee.
  • Saturdays and Sundays, overnight parking does not require payment of the daily fee.
  • Overnight parking is not permitted once snowfall begins or when snow accumulation in the lot reaches one (1) inch or more. 

Additional Transportation to the Metra Station

Pace provides weekday rush-hour service between southwestern Lombard and the Metra UP - West Line Lombard Station. Serves the Yorktown Condominiums, The Covington, Cove Landing, Clover Creek, Point West, International Village, Royal Glen, the Glen Ellyn Apartment Homes and the Metra UP - West Line Lombard Station.  Visit the Pace website for more information.
