  1. St. Pius X Volley for the Cure

    On Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st at St. Pius X we are hosting our 6th Annual Volley for the Cure. Volley for the Cure™ was started by two friends in Ohio back in 2006 to bring awareness to breast cancer. A Volley for the Cure™ match is a regular season high school/grade school volleyball match that is designated as an awareness and fundraising match. The goal is to pack the stands with Pink!   2. Recycling Extravganza

  4. Lombard Historical Society takes part in 15th Annual Museum Day

    September 21, 2019, 10:00 AM @ Victorian Cottage, the Sheldon Peck Homestead and the Carriage House Exhibits

    The Lombard Historical Society (LHS) will open its doors free of charge to all Museum Day ticket holders on Saturday September 21, 2019 as part of Smithsonian magazine’s 15th annual Museum Day, a national celebration of boundless curiosity in which participating museums emulate the free admission policy. All LHS museums, including the Victorian Cottage, the Sheldon Peck Homestead and the Carriage House Exhibits will be open free on Museum Day, Saturday, September 21, 2019. The Sheldon Peck Homestead will be open from 10:00 – 4:00. Victorian Cottage and Carriage House exhibits will be open from 10:00 – 2:00. Don’t miss this free opportunity to see the Sheldon Peck Exhibit at the Sheldon Peck Homestead and the Lombard Sesquicentennial Exhibit in the Carriage House.

    The Lombard Historical Society is hosting a family-friendly picnic to celebrate the coming of autumn on Saturday, September 21, from 1-4 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket and join the fun on the front lawn of the Sheldon Peck Homestead, rain or shine. Bob for apples, play games, and enjoy hot dogs and s'mores over the fire. Music will be provided by the Plank Road Folk Music Society. This event is free as part of the Smithsonian Magazine’s 15th Annual Museum Day and is appropriate for all ages. Registration is suggested.
