The Lombard Park District wants you to join us in making a difference in people's lives this fall. Our Trick-or-Treat Food Drive is open for participation by local groups, organizations, and families. Each group will be assigned an area of Lombard to collect food to be donated to a local food pantry. Montini Catholic High School in Lombard is hosting their fifth annual Harvest Moon Howl on Saturday, October 20.. The festive fall event, will be held in the school's Field House from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and will feature the live music of 7th Heaven. Montini Catholic is proud to award Academic Scholarships to incoming freshmen taking their Placement Exam, held on December 1, 2018. Prospective students can earn up to $10,000 toward their high school education. Scholarships (ranging from $2,500 to $1,000) are based on a student's national ranking of the placement exam and are renewable for four years. The members and guests of the Lombard Garden Club gather to enjoy a program by their favorite presenter, Bill Kargas from Pioneer Garden and Feed. His topic is Growing Grass – It's Not the 70's Anymore. He is discussing all aspects of growing and maintaining a lawn. All his advice is environmentally responsible and he gives advice about selecting seeds, planting seeds, renovating and reviving as well as maintaining our patches of lawn.
