1. What items can I put in my recycling bin?

Items that are accepted are:

• Aluminum, glass and iron/steel food and beverage containers
• Cardboard and paper without wax liners
• Plastics labeled Number 1 through Number 5

Items that are not accepted and cause contamination include:

• Ceramics and porcelain
• Mirrors, windows, cooking glassware and light bulbs
• Plastics labeled Number 7 or unnumbered including plastic bags
• Tempered steel, including coat hangers, pots, pans and household appliances

2. My garbage/yard waste wasn’t picked up. What do I do now?

The Village of Lombard has contracted Waste Management to provide refuse, yard waste, and recycling services. Please contact Waste Management at 800-964-8988 or home.wm.com/lombard.

3. There was a holiday this week. When will my garbage be picked up?

Per contract, the holidays observed by Waste Management are:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

If those holidays fall on a week day, collection will be one day later for the remainder of the week.
