Distracted Driving Month Totals 

During the month of April, the Lombard Police Department focused on distracted driving safety as part of the National Safety Council’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The Lombard Police Department tickets for distracted driving year round, and has issued more than 5,400 cell phone violation tickets in the past five years, with 1,411 issued in 2018.

Lilac Time Continues Through Sunday, May 19

Lombard's most iconic time of the year, Lilac Time, returns with a full lineup of events, through May 19th. 

Community organizations will once again host an array of events for residents and visitors of all ages. 

Lilacia Park is open daily from dawn to dusk. There is no fee for entrance into the park. However, pre-registration and/or a fee may be required for certain special events. Be sure to visit the Lilac Time page for detailed information.

Lombard Lilac Time Parade Parking Restrictions: May 19

Lilac Time will end with the Lilac Time Parade, on Sunday, May 19, at 1:30 p.m. Parking restrictions have been announced and will be in place beginning 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. on May 19, along and near the parade route.

Calling All Lilac Time Photos of the Past!  

To celebrate the return of Lilac Time to the community, the Village is hosting its 6th Annual Lilac Time Photo Contest. The winners will receive Yorktown gift cards and have their photos displayed on the Village's website, displayed at Village Hall, and used in future promotional materials. The contest is seeking submissions for the following: 

  • Best Lilacia Park Photo
  • Best Spirit of the Community
  • Best Lilac Time Parade Photo
Celebrating Lombard's Sesquicentennial
To celebrate Lombard's 150th Birthday, two additional categories will be featured this year including a photo utilizing "150" in a prominent and creative fashion, and photos of Lilac Times of the past. Visit for rules and details. 
Memorial Day Ceremony

Memorial Day: 2019 Ceremony to Begin at 10 a.m. 

The Village will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Mon., May 27 at 10 a.m. in the Sunken Gardens, Lombard Common Park, located just east of the intersection of Grace and Maple streets.
Please note the time change for the 2019 event. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Veterans of the Armed Services, local scouts and residents are invited to attend.
