Severe Weather Predicted: Prepare Ahead of Time


The National Weather Service has predicted severe weather could impact the Lombard area, beginning this evening, into Friday morning. The storm may include wind gusts as high as 60 m.p.h.

The Village has been notified that ComEd has adjusted staffing levels, which will remain in effect through Friday. If you experience power outages, call 1-800-EDISON1.

Distracted Driving Month: Heightened Enforcement Continues 


April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and extra patrols are on the road, seeking out violators. Lombard Officers will spend 350 dedicated hours of extra enforcement, including during Distracted Driving Awareness Week from April 21 – 27, cracking down on illegal cell phone use and distracted driving


Police and Fire Remind Motorists to Move Over for Emergency Vehicles


To help keep first responders safe, Lombard Police and Fire Departments are reminding motorists that Scott's Law requires drivers to move over when they encounter emergency vehicles with flashing lights. New stickers, which read “move over” and “slow down,” have been added to Lombard’s police vehicles, to remind motorists that this potentially life-saving action is required by law. Next time you encounter an emergency vehicle with its lights on while you are driving, move over and slow down

Lombard Police Raise Funds for Special Olympics of Illinois


Lombard Police Officers will participate in the first of several events to raise funds for Illinois Special Olympics today, Thursday, April 11 at Lombard’s Claim Jumper Restaurant, 92 Yorktown Shopping Center. “Tip- A-Cop” will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with Officers serving as hosts and waiters. All tips they receive will be donated to Illinois Special Olympics. Visit the Village's website for information on this and upcoming events

Spring Blood Drive: Win White Sox Tickets 


Residents are invited to save lives by donating blood at the Village’s Spring Blood Drive on Wed., April 17. There is always an excuse not to donate but donating blood is a random act of kindness that can save up to three lives.

All donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Culver’s Custard and will be entered into a raffle to win a Yorktown gift card. Donors will also receive a $10 Colonial Café gift card and be entered to win a grand prize raffle drawing for four tickets to the April 27th White Sox vs. Tigers game, with four Hunting Bank Stadium Club passes and a parking pass.

Cruise Nights 2019 Kids Corner Sponsors Wanted

Seeking Community Groups to Sponsor Free Kids' Corner at Cruise Nights 


The Village of Lombard is seeking not-for-profit community groups and organizations to sponsor Kids’ Corner, scheduled to take place during Lombard Cruise Nights and Summer Concert Series on Saturday nights in Downtown Lombard, June 8 – August 24. 

Sponsors may include not-for-profit community groups and organizations, and will be required to provide a free activity for children to enjoy.
