Early Results for Distracted Driving Awareness Month 


In the first 3 days of Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement, Lombard Police issued 131 citations, including 63 cell phone citations. 

Enforcement throughout April will include 350 dedicated hours of extra enforcement, including during Distracted Driving Awareness Week from April 21 – 27. Additionally, a roadside safety checkpoint will occur during the overnight hours of April 5, as part of IDOT’s impaired driving grant funding.

Interested in finding out more about Public Works? The Public Works Citizens Academy is free, open to residents (18 and older), and offers hands-on training activities, tours of Village facilities, and presentations by Public Works staff. 

Lombard’s PWCA will be on Monday evenings, 6 - 8:30 p.m., April 15 – May 6, with a graduation event scheduled on Thursday, May 16, in conjunction with a regularly scheduled Village Board of Trustees Meeting. Sign up at villageoflombard.org/pwca

Spring Blood Drive: April 17


Residents are invited to save lives by donating blood at the Village’s Spring Blood Drive on Wed., April 17. There is always an excuse not to donate but donating blood is a random act of kindness that can save up to three lives.
