Jurisdictions across the country are reporting that schools and businesses have received bomb threats via emails, demanding a payment in Bitcoin. Lombard will continue to monitor the situation, however preliminary information suggests this is a hoax.

Holiday Recycling Options 

From electronic waste pick up at your door, to holiday light and holiday tree recycling, Waste Management provides residents with recycling opportunities.

Electronic Recycling 
Waste Management collects electronic items, including televisions and computers, for up to 180 Lombard residences each year, on a first come first serve basis. More

Holiday Light Recycling
Recycle old lights through Monday, Jan. 21, in front of Lombard Public Works at 1051 S. Hammerschmidt Avenue.  Wiring and the small bulbs are accepted, but not ornaments.

Holiday Tree Collection Program
Residents may place trees, free of tinsel and decorations, at their curbsides, January 7-18, at no charge.

Video Gaming Workshop on January 24

Village Board to Hold Video Gaming Workshop Meeting 

The Village of Lombard has concluded its committee level discussion of the existing local ban on video gaming. The topic was discussed at the Finance and Administration Committee on Oct. 22, the Public Safety and Transportation Committee on Nov. 7, the Community Relations Committee on Nov. 12, and the Economic and Community Development Committee on Dec. 10.

The Village Board will be hosting a workshop regarding video gaming on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. at Village Hall. The purpose of the Village Board workshop will be to review the committee recommendations and begin initial Board discussion of the matter. No final action will be taken. All meetings are open to the public.

snow shoveling reminder

Sidewalk Clearing Reminders

Village Code requires that property owners clear snow from public sidewalk segments that are commonly utilized by pedestrians, within 24 hours of the end of each snow event. Locations include: 

  • St. Charles Road from Elizabeth Street to Martha Street;
  • Main Street from Grove Avenue to Washington Boulevard;
  • Park Avenue from Orchard Terrace to McGuire Drive; and
  • Westmore-Meyers Road from Division Street to North Broadway.
Additionally, the required path of clearance has increased from 3 to 5 feet and requires property owners to clear abutting sidewalks and areas leading to intersections on cornersFor more information click here
