Residents Invited to Fire Department Toy Parade on Saturday

The Lombard Fire Department’s 18th Annual Toy Drive is currently collecting new toys, diapers and formula, at Village Hall, Fire Stations and Schroeder's Ace Hardware. Items will go to local residents and families in need.

The Toy Drive will end with the Toy Parade on Main Street, from St. Charles to Wilson Ave., Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10:30 a.m. Residents are invited to attend! For more information visit www.villageoflombard.org/toyparade


Lombard's 20th Annual Shop With A Cop 

On Saturday, Dec. 1, Lombard Police Officers assisted local children in holiday shopping for their families, as part of Lombard's Annual Shop with a Cop program, sponsored by the Lombard Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association. 

Officers picked up the children from their homes and escorted them to Target in a convoy of squad cars. Children shopped for their families and returned to Village Hall to wrap the presents and enjoy a lunch, before they were returned to their homes. More

Last Week for Fall Leaf Collection: December 10 - 14

Next week is the last week for fall leaf or yard waste collection. Lombard's annual six-week free leaf pick-up, as well as general yard waste collection, will end for the year on Friday, Dec. 14. Video gaming to be discussed at upcoming committee meeting

Video Gaming to be Discussed at Upcoming ECDC Meeting 

The Village of Lombard is continuing committee level discussion of the existing local ban on video gaming. The topic has been discussed at the Finance and Administration Committee on October 22, the Public Safety and Transportation Committee on November 7, and the Community Relations Committee on November 12. The Economic and Community Development Committee will be discussing the topic at their upcoming meeting on Monday, December 14, at 7 p.m., at Village Hall. All committee recommendations will be transmitted to the Village Board of Trustees for further consideration. Village advisory committees consist of Village of Lombard resident members, and are chaired by a Village Trustee. All meetings are open to the public.

101 South Main Workshop

Update: Redevelopment of 101 South Main Property 

The Village Board held a workshop session, that was open to the public, on November 28, to discuss proposals for the redevelopment of the 101 South Main property and to ask questions. Since this was an informational workshop event, no vote was taken. The presentation given at the workshop, along with a helpful FAQ, are available at villageoflombard.org/101southmain. The topic will next be considered at an upcoming Village Board meeting on Thursday, January 17, at 7 p.m., at Village Hall. 


Illinois Prairie Path

Path Crossings to be Completed on Westmore-Meyers Rd. 

The construction on Westmore-Meyers Road includes safety improvements for both the Great Western Trail and the Illinois Prairie Path crossings.The Great Western Trail crossing has been rerouted to the signalized St. Charles Rd. intersection and a Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacon system (RRFB) will be installed at the Illinois Prairie Path. Do you have old holiday lights that no longer work? You can recycle them in a bin in front of Public Works, at any hour, through January 21. Please remove any extra plastic ornaments from the wiring.

Petitions for candidacy for the 2019 Consolidated General Election are currently available for pick-up at the Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Avenue. The Consolidated General Election will take place on April 2, 2019 for Municipal, Park District, Library District, School District and Fire District Officials.  

Within the Village of Lombard, three 4-year positions for District Trustees in Districts 2, 4, and 5 are up for election. More
