Village Offices Closed for Labor Day  

Village Offices will be closed on Monday, September 3, in honor of the Labor Day Holiday. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 4 at 8 a.m. Additionally, Waste Management will be operating on a holiday schedule and pick up will be delayed by 1 day throughout the week. See Village Calendar


IDOT Roosevelt Rd. Project Update

The Village has been notified that IDOT is milling Roosevelt Rd., this week. IDOT"s construction zone spans the length of Roosevelt through Lombard. Lane closures will be in place and major delays are expected. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes if possible, watch for workers, and obey posted signs. IDOT has projected a completion of the project for mid to the end of October.

Senior of the Year

Seeking Senior Man and Senior Woman of the Year Nominations

There's still time to nominate your favorite Lombard senior citizen (65 years of age or older) for Lombard Senior Man or Senior Woman of the Year! Don't miss this opportunity to thank a Lombard resident who gives back to our community. Nominations are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7.

All nominees will be recognized at the Village's 2018 Senior Fair on Oct. 3 at Lombard Common Park. The winning Senior Man and Senior Woman of the Year will get to ride in the 2019 Lilac Time Parade. More information is available at

Drive Sober Get Pulled Over this Labor Day Holiday

Labor Day Weekend road trips and local celebrations are fun and festive, but the Lombard Police Department is reminding residents that due to alcohol and drug impaired drivers, it is also dangerous. 

Extra officers are on the road, cracking down on drunk and impaired drivers through September 3, including an overnight roadside safety checkpoint on August 24. More

9/11 Ceremony and Blood Drive

2018 marks the 17th anniversary of the September 11th Attacks on the World Trade Center. The Village of Lombard is paying tribute to those who lost their lives with two separate events. 

September 11 Moment of Silence 
The Lombard Fire Department invites residents to join a brief ceremony, and a moment of silence to remember the 9/11 tragedy on Tuesday, September 11th.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m., around the flagpole at Fire Station 45, at 50 E. St. Charles Rd. More
"We Remember" Blood Drive
Lombard’s Annual “We Remember” Blood Drive is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept.12, 2018, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Heartland Mobile Coach (parked outside entrance 5 between Von Maur and The Eatery), and 1:30 – 7 p.m., at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. All donors will receive a free Bears long-sleeved t-shirt, coupon for a free pint of Culver’s custard, a free entry voucher for Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Fest and will be registered to win a Yorktown gift card.
