St. Charles Road Crosswalk Improvements Begin April 7th

The Village of Lombard will begin infrastructure improvements on St. Charles Road starting the week of April 7, 2025 (weather permitting). This project includes the installation of concrete crosswalks from Elizabeth Street to Craig Place and is expected to continue through late May.

Residents and businesses should expect temporary lane closures, street closures and detours throughout the construction period. Signage will be posted at least one week in advance to help guide traffic and pedestrians safely.

Tentative Construction Schedule:

April 7 – April 18: Eastbound traffic only from Elizabeth St. to Garfield St.
April 21 – May 2: Westbound traffic only from Elizabeth St. to Garfield St.
May 5 – May 16: Road closures on Craig Pl., Garfield St., Charlotte St., Main St., Park Ave., S. Lincoln Ave. and N. Lincoln Ave.
May 19 – May 30: Road closures on Park Ave., Main St. and Martha St.

Additional Reminders

As with any road construction, plan ahead for possible delays when traveling through the area. Please use extra caution while driving near construction zones: follow posted signage, reduce speed and be mindful of workers and pedestrians.
