The contractor is currently spraying the bottom half of the large-diameter sewer on Fairfield, between South Broadway and Washington. If the weather allows on Saturday, they will start spraying the top half of the pipe on Washington, between Fairfield and LaLonde. Please note that there will be a lane reduction on Washington near the work area. Drivers are urged to exercise caution around workers and equipment when passing through the work zone.

Spraying the bottom half of the pipe is dependent on dry weather. Since this sewer collects both wastewater and stormwater, larger or prolonged storms may exceed the capacity of the internal bypass system, causing overflow into the bottom half of the sewer. If this occurs, the bottom will need to be re-cleaned. In the event of delays with the bottom half, the contractor will proceed with cleaning and lining the top half of the downstream sewer.
