Senior Fair on October 5th at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center

Residents are invited to attend the 16th Annual Senior Fair on Wednesday, October 5, at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center, 500 E. Wilson Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Enjoy a variety of free or low-cost services, learn about community groups to join, and find out about services or resources that focus on providing assistance to senior citizens. Popular services will include blood pressure screenings, flu shots, hearing screenings, COVID-19 vaccines/boosters, glucose screenings, DMV services and more!

Fire Department Hosts Fun and Free Open House on Oct 12

The Lombard Fire Department is inviting residents to attend a community open house on Wednesday, October 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles Rd, in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week.

The open house event will include fire safety games, snacks, interactive fire safety experiences, and the opportunity to meet your Lombard Firefighters and Paramedics!

Attendees who have purchased a pink shirt are invited to wear their shirts for a group photo with the Fire Department at 7 p.m. in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Firefighters Host Pink T-Shirt Fundraiser for Breast Cancer

The Lombard Fire Department and Lombard Firefighters Union 3009 are once again hosting a pink t-shirt fundraiser to raise funds for Bhorade Cancer Care Center at Good Samaritan Hospital. Shirts will be available for purchase on Saturday, October 8, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Rock Bottom (94 Yorktown Ct) in Lombard.

Shirts are $20 and are available in sizes small - XXL. All proceeds will go to the Bhorade Cancer Center at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Downtown Sidewalk Rehab Project Open House on October 3rd

As part of the Village’s 2023 Capital Projects Program, the Village will be rehabilitating the sidewalks along St. Charles Road between Charlotte Street and Elizabeth Street. The work is being conducted to improve the walking surface, address issues related to compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements regarding slope and cross slope of sidewalks, and improve the general aesthetics in the downtown corridor.

The Village will conduct a public Open House on October 3, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium on the lower level of the Helen Plum Library, 110 W Maple St. The meeting will feature a presentation on the project and allow attendees to review the preliminary plans and ask questions.

DCHD Update: DuPage County Drops to “Low” Community Level

This week, reported COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations continue to show overall decreases across DuPage County. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) moved DuPage County into “Low” Community Level Thursday (9/22/22) with the average rate of new COVID-19 infections falling below the threshold of 200 per 100,000 residents over the last 7 days, in addition to a continued slower pace of new COVID-19 hospital admissions of less than 10 per 100,000 residents over the last 7 days. As of September 22, 2022, DuPage County is reporting 117 cases per 100,000 residents in the last 7 days.
