Lombard's Fireworks Display this Sunday, Sept. 4 


This Labor Day weekend, bring your friends and family out to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display on Sunday, Sept. 4th at Madison Meadow Park! The show will begin at approximately 8:20 p.m., or once the sky is completely dark. 

Temporary parking restrictions will be implemented in neighborhoods adjacent to and surrounding Madison Meadow Park. In addition to regularly posted and temporary parking restrictions, be aware that standard restrictions, such as no parking in front of fire hydrants and no parking 25 feet from all intersections, remain in place.

Labor Day Village Reminders


Village offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 6, with normal business hours: Monday - Friday; 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Lobby Walk-In Hours: Monday - Thursday; 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Waste Management Holiday Schedule

Waste Management services will be delayed by one day during the week of September 5th. If you are scheduled for Monday service, your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, and so on. The last pickup of the week will be on Saturday, September 10, 2022. For Waste Management service questions, please visit www.wm.com.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over this Labor Day Weekend

As families and friends plan their end-of-summer celebrations for Labor Day weekend, the Lombard Police Department is partnering with the Illinois State Police and law enforcement across the state to stop impaired driving and help save lives. 
 
The high-visibility “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign runs through the early-morning hours of Sept. 6. During this period, law enforcement will be stepping up efforts focused on impaired, unbuckled and distracted drivers.

Last Call! Nominate Someone for 2022 Senior Man or Senior Woman of the Year! 


Do you know a senior citizen that deserves some recognition? Maybe a family member or neighbor that deserves a thank you? Nominate them for the 17th Annual Senior of the Year Awards!

Nominees and winners will be recognized at the Village's Senior Fair on October 5th, at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center. Nominees must have an incorporated Lombard home mailing address and be 65 years of age or older. Nominations must include a brief statement, 50 words or less, on why the nominee should be considered, as well as a short biography of the nominee. 

All nominations must be received by 4:30 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, for consideration. The Community Relations Committee will vote for the winner on Monday, September 12, 2022. Nominees and winners will be notified and announced publicly.

West Nile Virus Risk Level: 2


Today, the DuPage County Health Department raised the risk level for West Nile Virus from low to moderate, which calls for draining standing water and using insect repellent from dusk to dawn. 

Information about the Village’s mosquito abatement program, which focuses on killing larvae, is at villageoflombard.org/mosquitoes.
