Lombard Fireworks Display Rescheduled for Sunday, Sept. 4


The Village of Lombard has rescheduled the Fourth of July Fireworks display for Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 4, 2022. The event will take place at Madison Meadow Park. Additional event details will be shared as the event approaches.

As safety is a top priority of the Village, the Lombard Police and Fire Departments will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to ensure this event is as safe as possible for all those who attend.

Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire - July 5

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at approximately 1:27 a.m., the Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on the 500 block of South Edson Ave. Initial reports were that a possible lightning strike caused the fire. The first Fire Department crews arrived on the scene at 1:31 a.m. and found an exterior fire in the back of the building on the second floor.  Read on...


Fire Department Responds to Fatal Structure Fire - July 6

On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at approximately 8:09 a.m., the Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on the 400 block of South Park Rd. The first Fire Department crews arrived at 8:12 am and found the single-car attached garage fully engulfed in fire with an extension of the fire leading into the house. Read on...

Lombard Police: 4th of July Safety Campaign Enforcement Results 


During the recent Fourth of July safety campaign, the Lombard Police Department issued 80 seat belt and 23 child seat citations, as well as the following:  
  • 42 speeding citations
  • 55 cell phone citations
  • 50 other citations (moving/non-moving)
  • 8 traffic arrests (suspended/no valid Driver's License) 
  • 1 warrant arrest
  • 2 misdemeanor arrests
  • 1 felony arrest for possession of a controlled substance 
The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by IDOT as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.

Lombard Cycling Returns to Downtown Lombard on July 26


The Lombard Cycling Classic will take place in downtown Lombard on Tuesday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., with road closures beginning at 6:00 a.m. Residents and visitors are invited to witness these thrilling, high-speed bicycle races while also visiting and enjoying our downtown businesses and restaurants.  

This family-friendly event is part of a 10-day nationally-renowned bicycling event series, The Intelligentsia Cup Chicago, which runs from July 16 – 25 at various locations in the Chicago area. The event is hosted by the DuPage County Convention and Visitors Bureau, includes several hundred professional and amateur road cyclists competing in races throughout the day on a designated course through downtown Lombard, and will bring national attention to the Lilac Village.

2021 Annual Water Quality Report


The Village of Lombard is again pleased to present the 2021 Annual Water Quality Report, which shows excellent results that surpass requirements established by the Environmental Protection Agency. The report covers water tested from January 1 – December 31, 2021. 

The Village of Lombard’s 2021 Annual Water Report maintains its ongoing record of violation-free water and shows that the Village’s excellent water quality meets all of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and state drinking water health standards.

DuPage Sign Recycling: July 8 & 9


DuPage County will recycle corrugated plastic signs and metal stands, such as those used for many political campaigns, at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on July 8th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and July 9th from 9 a.m. to noon at no cost. 

Corrugated plastics are not recyclable curbside due to their chemical composition, so they should otherwise be disposed of as trash.
