Lilac Time 2022 Begins 


Lilac Time (April 29 - May 15) is almost here, and there are many special events for everyone to enjoy. This Sunday, May 1st, join the Lombard Junior Women's Club in Lilacia Park at 1 p.m. for the Lilac Queen Coronation. Followed by a Dancing Queen (ABBA tribute band) concert, hosted by Lombard Park District, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.in Lilacia Park. 

The Lilac Time Art & Craft Fair in Downtown Lombard, hosted by the Lombard Chamber of Commerce, will also be held on Sunday, May 1st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
Note: West St. Charles Rd will be closed between Main St and Elizabeth Ave from 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the fair.  A detour to Elizabeth St, Grove St, and Main St will be in place.

Lombard Recognized as Tree City USA for 32nd Consecutive Year


The Village of Lombard is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as a 2021 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, for its dedication to urban forestry. The Village has been recognized as a Tree City USA for 32 consecutive years. 

Lombard also received its 25th Arbor Day Foundation's Growth Award, which recognizes major milestones and annual activities that combine to build a sustainable community forestry program. This inaugural award was given to municipalities based on forestry funding/staff/training; measuring tree inventory; urban planning; planting/protecting parkway trees; and community involvement.

Butterfield Corridor Plan Project Survey 

The Village of Lombard, along with Downers Grove, Oak Brook and DuPage County, is working with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) on a collaborative effort to shape the future of the Butterfield Road corridor.

Drug Take-Back Event this Saturday at Lombard Police Station


Do you have unwanted or expired medications at home? Join the Village of Lombard for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lombard Police Department, 235 E. Wilson Ave.

Participants may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into the disposal box. No needles, sharps or liquids will be accepted.

Join the “There’s No Place Like Lombard” Photo Contest 

The Village of Lombard is hosting its Annual Lilac Time Photo Contest from May 1 to May 29, 2022. This year’s contest encourages photographers to submit their photos of people, children and pets enjoying their favorite Lombard locations during Lilac Time. 

$100, $50, and $25 gift cards will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners! Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 29th via email, in-person, or on social media with the hashtag #VOLLilacTimePhotoContest.


Distracted Driving Awareness Month


Stay safe this Distracted Driving Awareness Month – and every day – by putting the phone away. Through the end of April, drivers will see increased law enforcement efforts as officers stop and ticket anyone who texts or uses their cell phones while driving.

Assistance Program for Illinois 
Homeowners Impacted by COVID-19


Illinois homeowners who have fallen behind on payments due to the pandemic can now get support from a new homeowner assistance program provided by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA). IHDA is offering the Illinois Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF) and the program offers up to $30,000 in assistance to approved applicants.

Applications for the Illinois Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF) will be accepted through Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
