Village of Lombard Update

In light of the current COVID-19 surge affecting our region, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the Village’s convenient online and over-the-phone options for service when possible.

The Village Hall lobby is currently open to foot traffic Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At the present time, the Lombard Police Department's main lobby at 235 E Wilson Ave is closed to the public. During this time, residents seeking non-emergency police assistance are asked to call (630) 873-4400 to speak to a staff member or to schedule an appointment. Residents who visit the Police Department are asked to use the phone located just inside the front doors for assistance.

Members of Lombard Fire Department Recognized for Saving a Resident's Life

On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, five members of the Lombard Fire Department were recognized for their actions in helping to save Mr. Seay, an otherwise healthy 54-year-old Lombard resident, after suffering sudden cardiac arrest in his home last month.

At the ceremony, Firefighters/Paramedics Tyler Gunn, John Trapani, Nathanael Noon, Dan Campbell, and Lt. Tony Sally received a Clinical Save Award and met with Mr. Seay.

“If it wasn’t for the forward-thinking of the Village of Lombard, the Fire Department, and the ongoing training that everyone has committed themselves to, I wouldn’t be here today. I am just one example of your dedication, your ongoing training, and your commitment to your profession. I can’t thank you enough, from the bottom of my heart, I am here today because of you,” commented Mr. Seay.

Free Tree Pick-up and Holiday Light Recycling

As you begin to wrap up the holidays, Public Works shares some reminders:

Free Holiday Tree Pick Up Through Jan. 14
Residents may place holiday trees, free of tinsel and decorations, at their curbsides, January 3-14, for free disposal.

Light Recycling Through Jan. 17
Old or unwanted holiday lights may be dropped off in a bin at Lombard Public Works, 1051 S. Hammerschmidt Avenue, to be recycled by Elgin Recycling. The light collection will run through January 17th. Lights should be placed in the bin located in front of the building anytime (24/7). Please remove plastic ornamentals and bags from the wiring to prevent entangling in the processing machinery.
