David Eigenberg and Kara Killmer from NBC’s Chicago Fire are showing their support for the Lombard Fire Department's 2019 Pink T-Shirt Campaign. The Lombard Fire Department’s fundraiser began in 2014 and has helped to raise more than $10,000 for people in treatment at Bhorade Cancer Care Center at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Lombard Firefighters will are wearing the pink t-shirts while on shift throughout October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to show support to those who have been affected by breast cancer. The 2019 shirts have already been ordered. Please email LFDPink@yahoo.com to be notified when next year’s shirts are available for order.
“It’s exciting to have the support of David and Kara from Chicago Fire. We hope that this fundraiser continues to grow in popularity because each purchase directly benefits a Lombard resident or neighbor that is in treatment,” said Lombard Firefighter/Paramedic Bob Hopper, who organizes the fundraiser. “We love this town and we love being able to help our neighbors in need. We hope that anyone who has been affected by breast cancer will see these bright pink shirts and know they’re not alone. The Lombard Fire Department, David, and Kara, are in your corner.”
