We are pleased to announce that Lombard Police Officer Matthew Kazy-Garey has been awarded the MADD Hero Award by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in recognition of his outstanding dedication and accomplishments in impaired driving enforcement. This prestigious award is presented to a select group of officers in Illinois who have demonstrated exceptional commitment in this area. Officer Kazy-Garey is a Drug Recognition Expert and has made 150 DUI arrests within the past three years. His continued commitment to ensuring the safety of roadways in Lombard is a reflection of his dedication and also highlights the exemplary efforts of our Lombard Police Department.
Officer Kazy-Garey was presented the award at the Honoring Heroes Recognition Banquet in Springfield on September 9th, marking the first time in 25 years that a Lombard officer has received this honor.
