Residents are invited to participate in the Village of Lombard's Summer Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in honor of World Blood Donor Day, which falls on June 14. The blood drive will take place at two locations: the lower level of Yorktown outside of Von Maur where a mobile coach will be parked from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the First Church of Lombard Fellowship Hall at 220 S. Main Street from 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
During the blood drive at First Church of Lombard, Radonova, Inc. will provide free radon test kits to all blood drive donors. This initiative raises awareness about the importance of radon testing for a safe living environment, allowing participants to contribute to saving lives through blood donation while also ensuring the well-being of their homes and loved ones.
If you feel ill, it is advised that you stay home and reschedule your appointment for a later date. Healthy individuals are encouraged to keep their appointments and will undergo the health screening process prior to their donation. For more information on COVID-19 as it relates to blood, visit the American Association of Blood Banks website at www.aabb.org.
Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. For more information or to schedule a donation time slot, contact Blood Drive Coordinator Carol Bauer at (630) 620-5712, or visit www.villageoflombard.org/blooddrives.
