Beginning this week, the Village's contractor, Hard Rock Concrete Cutters, Inc., will be conducting sidewalk cutting and slicing work throughout the month of May in zones 4, 5, and 6 as shown on the map.
The purpose of the work is to remove trip hazards and ensure that the sidewalks are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and safe for residents to use.

The impact of the work should be minimal, as the affected sidewalk will only be inaccessible while the work is being carried out in that specific area. Residents will have full access to their driveways during the process. By addressing the trip hazards with this method, the village will save significant costs compared to removing entire sidewalk squares.
Each machine used for the work is equipped with water for dust suppression, and after the cut is complete, a small amount of concrete slurry is washed away and diluted. This process is not harmful to vegetation.
