The 2022 Lilac Parade is returning to Lombard this Sunday, May 15, 2022. The parade will begin at Glenbard East High School, 1014 S. Main St, and head north towards Maple St. at 1:30 p.m. In order to help ensure a safe and orderly event, Lombard Police Chief Roy Newton announced temporary parking restrictions and a road closure during the Parade.

Parking restrictions will be implemented in the area, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15. Refer to the 2022 Lilac Parade Parking Restrictions map for details. When possible, Lombard residents are encouraged to leave their cars at home and walk to the Parade.

Residents and attendees are urged to cooperate with the Village and the Lombard Lilac Festival Parade Committee to help prevent individuals from removing the posted "No Parking" signs before and during the Parade. Additionally, everyone is advised to follow the temporary parking restrictions so the Parade can run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Main St. will be closed to all vehicle traffic from Central to Parkside shortly before the Parade begins. Detour routes for Main St. will be posted and are as follows: From the North: St Charles Rd. east to Grace St. and south on Grace to Central. Central west to Main, then onto Edward continuing west to Finley. Or St. Charles west to Finley merging onto Crescent and then south on Finley road. From the South: Edward west to Finley and then north on Finley.

Volunteers from the Lombard Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will be assisting the Lombard Police Department with traffic direction and crowd control during Parade time.

As a reminder, the Lilac Parade is a family event and the consumption of alcoholic beverages along the Parade route is prohibited under Village Ordinance Title 9, Chapter 95.03, Section (A).

The Lombard Fire Department will have one ambulance located at 805 South Main St. and one at Colonial Commons in the 400 block of South Main St. to provide adequate emergency care during the Parade.
