The Lombard Fire Department is inviting residents to attend a community open house at Fire Station 45 which is located at 50 E. St. Charles Rd., on Wednesday, October 6, 6-8 p.m., in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week, October 3-9, 2021.
The fun and free open house will include demonstrations and the opportunity to meet your Lombard Firefighters and Paramedics. Everyone in attendance will get a closer look at Fire and EMS vehicles, the apparatus involved in firefighting and emergency responses. This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.
Attendees who have purchased a pink shirt are invited to wear their shirts for a group photo with the Fire Department at 7 p.m. in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink shirts will be available for purchase on Oct. 2 at Rock Bottom at Yorktown Center from 12 - 3 p.m. to raise funds that support Good Samaritan Hospital’s Cancer Care Center.
Anyone with questions about the event can contact Lombard Fire Marshal & Bureau Chief Perry Johnson at (630) 620-5750 or JohnsonP@villageoflombard.org.
