[ARCHIVED] Statement from Lombard Village President: November 9, 2020

News Item Village Logo

Hello Lombard,

On behalf of the Village Board, I want to begin by thanking the more than 21,000 Lombardians who recently voted in the 2020 General Election. Together voting through mail, in person early voting or at the polls on Election Day, nearly 60% of our adult population exercised their right to vote. We truly hope that each and every one of you knows how much your vote, and your voice, matters.

The passion and conviction that our residents hold for their beliefs is just one of the things that makes Lombard such a great place to live. Our diversity is what binds the fabric of our community together. Each one of our residents are unique, and when we respect one another, we are strengthened. As we continue to navigate a difficult time in our history, this level of compassion, tolerance, and understanding will carry us through.

On a personal note, I am encouraging you all to take a break from tv, computer, or social media screens to enjoy a walk and in our beautiful community. If you see a neighbor outside, wave and say hello. A small act of kindness can go a long way these days.

As we move forward, please remember that above all else, we are neighbors.  We are the Lilac Village. And when you combine red and blue together, you get purple.

No matter what the challenges we face, we face them together. As one community. As neighbors. And as one Lombard.

Thank you,
