[ARCHIVED] Lombard Fire Department responds to house fire

Social Image Fire Department Update

At 4:12 a.m. on Monday, August 3, the Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on the 500 block of north Lombard Road, in Lombard. The first Lombard Fire Department crew arrived on scene at 4:17 a.m. and confirmed that there was a fire on the outside of the home spreading to the interior.

Initial fire crews began an aggressive attack on the fire while other crews initiated rapid search for victims. The fire was declared under control in approximately seventeen minutes. Firefighters continued to ventilate smoke and perform salvage and overhaul activities.

There were no injuries to citizens or firefighters. The home was deemed uninhabitable with damage to the building and contents estimated to be $60,000. The fire remains under investigation by the Lombard Fire Investigation Unit.

Lombard firefighters were assisted by Elmhurst and Villa Park Fire Departments, as well as Addison and York Center Fire Protection Districts.  Lombard Police assisted with traffic and crowd control. Please contact Deputy Chief Ray Kickert with any questions at (630) 620-5736.
