Phase 4 of Restore Illinois Plan to Begin June 26

Lombard will move from Phase 3 to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan tomorrow, Friday, June 26. As we continue to move forward as a community, we are excited about new opportunities to visit and shop at Lombard restaurants and businesses, and to get back to some of our favorite pastimes.

Yorktown Center is happy to announce that almost 80% of their stores are open for your shopping needs! Yorktown is also looking forward to the reopening of restaurants in their Eatery and are preparing to implement the required seating restrictions and safety measures. You can also enjoy some summer movies at the AMC Theater at Yorktown, beginning July 15th.

The Lombard community offers numerous opportunities for dining and shopping. Many businesses will continue to offer curbside pick-up and delivery, but indoor dining and outdoor dining at your favorite restaurants may also soon be available! From downtown Lombard to Yorktown Shopping Center, and the shops and restaurants along Butterfield and Roosevelt, residents are reminded to dine and shop local!

It is our hope that residents will recognize the importance of supporting local businesses at this important time. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we said “we will get through this together,” and this statement rings truer than ever. Whether you are supporting your neighborhood restaurant, purchasing a birthday gift or gift card from a small business, or seeing a movie and shopping at Yorktown Center, we thank you for your support of local businesses.

While we celebrate this next step in restoring our local economy, we do so with a heightened responsibility to the health and safety of our family, friends, neighbors, and essential workers. COVID-19 is an active part of our day-to-day lives and prevention is key. Customers should expect to maintain social distancing and to comply with restrictions in place. Please continue to wear masks in situations when a minimum of 6’ of social distance cannot be maintained and remember to wash your hands with soap and water often.

We will continue to get through this together Lombard Strong!

COVID-19 Business Assistance Grant Programs

The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) are establishing the Illinois Small Business Emergency Loan Fund to offer small businesses low interest loans of up to $50,000. Businesses located outside of the City of Chicago, including Lombard, with fewer than 50 workers and less than $3 million in revenue in 2019 will be eligible to apply. Successful applicants will owe nothing for six months and will then begin making fixed payments at a below market interest rate for the remainder of a five-year loan term. https://www2.illinois.gov/dceo/SmallBizAssistance/Pages/C19DisadvantagedBusGrants.aspx?fbclid=IwAR3_tlYv6uBa-F-OxahjYw3zNmebcSXeNXB48sVQJU7sC4G6JUzigU4HKg0
