Lombard Fire Department Responds to Outside Fire Involving Multiple Vehicles & Trailers
At approximately 5:34 p.m. on Friday, March 29th, the Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of a truck on fire inside of a garage on the 1000 block of East Saint Charles Road. As crews responded, a large smoke plume was visible in the area.
Initial crews arrived on scene at 5:39 p.m. and determined that there were several vehicles, trailers, and other machinery on fire behind a business, however there were no buildings involved. Multiple hose lines were stretched and crews began an aggressive attack on the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control and crews performed overhaul activities to extinguish any remaining fire.
The Lombard Fire Investigation Unit arrived on scene. The incident is currently under investigation. No civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire. Damage to the vehicles and associated equipment is estimated at $40,000.
