Customers who receive water from the Village of Lombard will experience several changes to their water billing beginning in 2020. Changes will include:
- A visual redesign of the water bill to help make it more readable.
- A new $5 capital fee added to each bill. This revenue will help pay for Lombard’s aging infrastructure that needs to be replaced in order to continue to provide clean and safe drinking water into the future. Based on results of a recent water and sewer rate study, a recommendation was proposed by Committees, consisting of Village of Lombard residents, that the Village implement a $5.00 fixed capital fee per bill to help pay for Lombard’s aging infrastructure needs. In the next 10 years, it is projected that Lombard will need to spend $31,085,000 for sewer and storm water management improvements and $14,711,000 for water system improvements. It’s important to plan ahead to help keep our water safe.
- Customers will now receive water bills on a monthly basis. Bills will be mailed on the 3rd of every month and will be due on the 24th of every month.
