The Lombard Police Department offers a year-round prescription medication drug take-back program for residents at no charge. The disposal box is located in the police department lobby and is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
Drug disposal boxes provide safe collection and disposal of drugs as another means of minimizing the cycle of prescription drug abuse and addiction. Additionally, the proper disposal of prescription medications is environmentally friendly as it prevents medications from entering the water supply by tossing them in the trash or flushing them down the toilet.
