  2. Lombard’s Annual Fall Community Blood Drive

    November 13, 2019, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM @ The blood drive will take place from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Yorktown Shopping Center, and at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., from 1:30 – 7 p.m.

    The Village of Lombard is hosting its annual fall blood drive on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in honor of Veterans Day. This event also recognizes the former Village President Bill Mueller, who passed away in 2012. Residents are encouraged to donate blood in honor of Mueller’s dedication to Lombard’s veterans. The blood drive will take place from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Yorktown Shopping Center, and at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., from 1:30 – 7 p.m. Donors will receive a $10 Colonial Cafe Certificate and a free pint of Culver’s Frozen Custard.     Each year, Glenbard East High School offers parents and community members the chance to Experience East! This event gives adults the unique opportunity to not only hear about what is going on at Glenbard East from our administrators, it also provides the chance to Experience East during the school day. You will tour the school with a student leader, visit classrooms, and walk our halls. This is an adults-only event – incoming 8th grade students and transfer students have their own orientation process. This year, Experience East will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, November 14.

    The Lombard Parade Committee meets the second Thursday of the month at the store front located at 32 Yorktown Center. The Parade Committee is always looking to add volunteers.   5. 8th Annual Lombard Community Spelling Bee hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Lombard

    November 16, 2019, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

    The Kiwanis Club of Lombard is accepting registration for the 8th Annual Lombard Community Spelling Bee. The first 20 students in each grade level, from fourth through seventh, are eligible to register through email to kiwanisoflombard@gmail.com. Please include name, school and grade level in the email. Students need to either attend school in Lombard or live in Lombard to participate. The spelling bee will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at Glenn Westlake Middle School in Lombard. There is no cost to participate. Spelling lists will not be provided, and any words found in a dictionary may be used. The winner of each grade level will receive a trophy and $50 cash; second place will receive $25 cash. The grand prizes are $100 for the overall winner and $50 for the runner-up. All participants will receive a ribbon and drawstring bag.

  6. 8th Annual Turkey Shoot hosted by the Lombard Park District

    Get ready for Thanksgiving with the 8th Annual Lombard Park District Turkey Shoot. This Hot Shot shooting contest and Skills Competition will get your family into the Thanksgiving spirit!
