The Lombard Fire Department recently hosted its annual Toy Drive which culminates with a Toy Parade down Main Street, and the unloading of toys at Yorktown Center. This marks the event's most successful results since it began 15 years ago.

The event helped to raise approximately $3,000 in cash donations and over $10,000 worth of donated toys, diapers and formula.

The Lombard Fire Department kicked off their annual Toy Parade on Saturday, December 12 at 10:30 a.m. The Parade is coordinated and led by the Lombard Fire Fighters Union Local 3009. School Districts 87, 44 and 45 continue to be supporters of the Toy Parade.

The 5th Grade Destination Imagination Team from Westmore School held a festive event that featured free admission with a donated toy. The toys collected helped to support the Lombard Toy Drive and will bring joy to children in need throughout the area this holiday season.

According to Toy Parade Coordinator and Firefighter/Paramedic Josh Hays, “This has been another year of incredible community support from our businesses, families, and our Lombard schools.”
