The Lombard Fire Department will kick off their annual Toy Parade on Saturday, December 12 at 10:30 a.m. The Parade is coordinated and led by the Lombard Fire Fighters Union Local 3009.

School Districts 87, 44 and 45 continue to be supporters of the Toy Parade.

The 5th Grade Destination Imagination Team from Westmore School held a festive event that featured free admission with a donated toy. The toys collected will help support the Lombard Toy Drive and will bring joy to children in need throughout the area this holiday season. The event took place Sunday, December 6, at Jefferson Middle School in Villa Park. According to Lombard Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Howell, “This group of students and their leader, Mrs. Celina Wiegel, worked extremely hard to make the collection event so successful.” The team from Westmore also reached out to Local Police and Fire agencies that helped make the event a great achievement. The event was a collective effort of many student volunteers and families and featured two gymnasiums filled with festive events, games, raffles, food, and an appearance by Santa.

According to Toy Parade Coordinator and Firefighter/Paramedic Josh Hays, “This has been another year of incredible community support from our businesses, families, and our Lombard schools.”

Agencies that participated included The Villa Park Police and Fire Departments, York Center Fire Protection District, and the Lombard Police and Fire Department.
