On Sunday, Nov. 8, at 8:35 p.m., Lombard Officers responded to Lilacia Park for reports of a fire. It was found that an unknown suspect had rolled over a recycling bin full of books into the park and proceeded to set the bin on fire in an empty pond.

The liner of the pond at Lilacia Park was damaged in the fire. Video from Helen Plum Library shows the suspect taking the recycling bin from the outside of the library, before setting it on fire. The suspect was searing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt, and gym shoes. Please contact Det. Menolascino with any information.
