    October 3 - November 14 @ Victorian Cottage
    23 W. Maple

Victorians experienced death more closely than we do today. A body was ‘waked’ in the home. Rigid customs dictated mourning – from dress, behavior, and length of mourning. Visit the Lombard Historical Society’s temporary exhibit explaining many of the Victorian customs surrounding death and mourning. Through Nov 14, 2014.

    October 20 - November 29

Free leaf pick-up is for Kraft brown paper bags ONLY (unlimited number of bags) and bags must contain only leaves. Yard waste stickers are required on any cans that are filled with leaves. Bags and cans of leaves may be put at the curb on the regular garbage collection day. It is against Village Code to place leaves in a public alley, roadway, street, driveway or sidewalk as they can cover and block storm drains, which can cause flooding when it rains. Cans and bags filled with other yard waste (grass clippings, small twigs/branches or plant materials) must have stickers on them. Properly bundled brush does not require a yard waste sticker. Brush is defined as limbs or branches from trees, shrubs or bushes. Individual branches should be no bigger than 6' in length and 6" in diameter; bundles should be no bigger than 18" in diameter and 50 pounds. All yard waste is picked up on your regular garbage day. The Village’s yard waste program will end for the season on November 29th.
