Commercial Recycling

The Village of Lombard encourages commercial property owners (all businesses and residential buildings with 5 or more units) to recycle. Recycling reduces the volume of refuse going to landfills as well as the customer’s overall solid waste service costs since recycling fees are 30% lower than refuse fees. See the current schedule of fees.

Commercial property owners must only use collection companies that are licensed to operate in the Village. These businesses are insured and bonded to protect against damage to Village streets and facilities. In addition to Waste Management, the following company currently holds a license to collect non-typical recyclables (such as baled cardboard, scrap metal, wood and electronics):

Flood Brothers Disposal Company (630) 261-0400
     Groot (800) 244-1977
      K. Hoving  (630) 377-7000

If you would rather not have collection service, there are drop-off alternatives available. The DuPage County Recycling Guide is a compilation of many area businesses that accept various items for recycling, including things such as batteries, books, electronics, paint, etc. There are also two locations that accept typical recyclables.
