2017 Lilac Time Photo Contest

The Village of Lombard is pleased to announce this year’s top winning photographs of the 2016 Lilac Time Photo Contest, in which residents and guests were invited to submit photos that best represented Lombard during Lilac Time.

  • First Place – "Graceful Blooms" by Stacie Popowski
  • Second Place – “Lilacia Park” by Tony Peterman
  • Third Place – “Tuesday in the Park” by Jennifer Shilt
  • Honorable Mention: Pranav Selvan

All three of the top-placing photos will be displayed at Village Hall. The winners will also receive Yorktown Shopping Center gift cards, valued at $100, $50 and $25, respectively.

“Once again the quality of work that was submitted this year was very impressive and we're very grateful to everyone who participated,” said Trustee Robyn Pike who serves as Chairperson to the Community Relations Committee, which oversaw this year's contest. “The winning images were judged on their appropriateness to the theme, as well as composition, lighting, shape, value, color, and texture."

All photos received during the contest are available for viewing on the Village of Lombard’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/villageoflombard in an album labeled “Lilac Time Photo Contest 2017.”  Photos were voted on by a combination of Village Staff and Lombard residents.

The contest, which was open from May 21 - June 9, allowed anyone to submit photos taken in Lombard via email, #VOLLilacTime with a reference to the contest or via digital copies delivered to Village Hall. The contest was open to residents and non-residents.

This is the fourth year of the contest, and the Village plans on hosting annually. Anyone with questions regarding the contest can visit villageoflombard.org/photocontest for more information. Please contact the Village of Lombard’s Communications Coordinator Avis Meade at meadea@villageoflombard.org with any questions.
