All-out plowing begins when 1” of snow has accumulated and snow is still falling. It is advisable to abstain from unnecessary travel. If you must drive, exercise caution around snow clearing equipment and when driving through roadway windrows (piles of snow).
It is the Village’s goal to clear all streets within 10 hours after the snowfall has ceased. Bear in mind that time of day (rush hour) and heavier snows effect the effort. An unfortunate by-product of clearing the roadways is windrows across driveway aprons. Residents can help minimize the size of the windrow by clearing a pocket upstream of your apron for snow from the plow blade to fall into.
