Bureau of Fire Prevention

The Bureau of Fire Prevention is managed by the Fire Marshal, Chuck Riforgiate, and eight Fire Inspectors.

The Bureau of Fire Prevention is responsible for mitigating potential fire and life safety hazards within the Village of Lombard.

This is accomplished through performing the following services:

  • Code enforcement
  • Fire, life safety, school, special event, and liquor license inspections
  • Reviewing and approving all fire suppression and detection equipment installations
  • Providing open burning permits
  • Monitoring the storage of hazardous materials
  • Providing hydrant flow information to sprinkler system designers
